Egypt Condemns Terrorist Attack in Iraq's Kirkuk

On Sunday, Egypt condemned the treacherous terrorist attack that took place, on Saturday evening, in the Kirkuk governorate, which resulted in the death and injury of a number of valiant Iraqi police forces.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Egyptian government and people extend their sincere condolences and sincere sympathy to the Iraqi government and people, and to the families of the innocent victims, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.

The statement affirmed Egypt's full solidarity with Iraq in the measures it takes to protect its security and stability and to eradicate the hateful scourge of terrorism from all its regions. It confirmed its confidence that such despicable actions will only increase Iraq's determination to defeat terrorism and its supporters.

On Saturday, five policemen died in Iraqi Kirkuk province after an armed attack occurred on Saturday. The policemen were killed in an armed attack by ISIS in Kirkuk governorate, according to EKhbaria News.

A police source told the EKhbaria news agency on Saturday that the attack took place in the Al-Rashad village, killing several men and leading to many conflicts situations in this afflicted nation.

Meanwhile, the source described the attack as a “barbaric” act, adding that security agencies have carried out several missions to arrest the murderers who carried out this terrorist attack.

“The authorities have tracked down other assailants,” the source explained.
