Egypt strongly condemns decision of the Israeli government to halt the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip and to close the crossings used for humanitarian relief efforts.
In a statment issued by Foreign Ministry, Egypt affirmed that these measures constitute a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement, international humanitarian law, the Fourth Geneva Convention, and all religious principles.
It stressed that there is no justification, circumstance, or rationale that could permit the use of starving innocent civilians and imposing a blockade as a weapon against the Palestinian people, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
The statement also called on the international community to uphold its responsibilities in stopping all illegal and inhumane practices targeting civilians and to condemn any attempts to achieve political objectives by endangering the lives of innocent people.
