Egypt strongly condemned and denounced the systematic and unjust targeting by the Israeli occupation of healthcare infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, most recently the targeting and evacuation of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.
In a statement, Foreign Ministry added that this hospital was the last major functioning health facility in northern Gaza, stressing that such actions constitute a blatant aggression and a grave violation of all international norms and conventions, adding to the series of violations committed by Israeli occupation authorities against Palestinians in Gaza.
Moreover, the statment pointed out that these actions are in stark contradiction to all relevant international agreements, including Israel's obligations as an occupying power.
"Egypt warns against the continuation of these disgraceful acts, which aim to depopulate northern Gaza and render it uninhabitable, forcing its residents to abandon their land," the statment read.
It added that, these actions necessitate the activation of international accountability mechanisms and decisive measures by the international community and the UN Security Council to halt this trend.
"Such actions not only constitute gross and flagrant violations of international law and international humanitarian law but also pose a serious threat to regional and international peace and security," the ministry added.
"Egypt reaffirms, in no uncertain terms, its absolute rejection of all plans and measures aimed at displacing the residents of Gaza from their land under any pretext," it stressed.
It also underlined the urgent need to end this senseless war on Gaza as soon as possible, to cease these brutal practices, and to remove obstacles to the flow of humanitarian aid, allowing adequate and sustainable relief for the hundreds of thousands of residents of the Strip.
