Egypt has condemned the storming of Al Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli police and attacking worshipers, including women, as a "blatant" assault and violation of all international laws and norms.

In a statement by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs at dawn on Wednesday, Egypt considered that such reprehensible scenes, and the repeated Israeli violations of the sanctity of the holy places, fuel the feelings of resentment and anger among all the Palestinian people, Islamic peoples, and people of good conscience worldwide.

The country called on the Israeli authorities to stop immediately those attacks that terrify the worshipers who have taken the mosque as a safe residence during the days of the blessed month of Ramadan.

Egypt held the Israeli occupation responsible for this dangerous escalation, which would undermine the truce efforts in which Egypt is engaged with its regional and international partners, urging the international community to assume its responsibility to put an end to these attacks, and to spare the region more factors of instability and tension.
