Egypt has strongly condemned the recent Iranian attacks on the Qatari territory, describing them as a grave violation of Qatari sovereignty and a serious threat to regional peace and security.
In an official statement on Monday, the Egyptian government expressed its deep concern over what it called a "blatant breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations." Cairo affirmed its full solidarity with Qatar and reiterated its unwavering support for the Gulf nation amid the escalating regional tensions.
“Egypt expresses its firm rejection of all forms of military escalation and any infringement upon the sovereignty of states,” the statement said, warning that the current pace of escalation in the Middle East poses significant risks of spiraling out of control.
The statement also called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and urged all parties to prioritize dialogue and diplomatic solutions. Egypt emphasized the importance of collective regional and international efforts to contain the growing tensions, maintain stability, and prevent further deterioration of the situation.
Reaffirming its commitment to peace and regional security, Egypt concluded by urging all actors to exercise maximum restraint and to uphold the principles of international law in resolving disputes.
