Egypt, Arab Countries Trade Exchange Hits $21.9Bln in 9 Months: CAPMAS

Trade exchange volume between Egypt and Arab countries hits $21.9 billion during the first nine months, up from $18.4 billion in the same period of 2021, according to the Egyptian Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS).

Egypt’s exports to Arab countries has reached $8.8 billion in the first nine months of 2022, up from $8.2 billion in the same period in 2021, increasing by $620 million, or 7.6 percent, CAPMAS said on Thursday.

In the first nine months of 2022, Saudi Arabia ranked first among the first ten Arab countries importing from Egypt with $1.8 billion, followed by the UAE, Libya and Sudan whose imports from Egypt were estimated.

The list of top Arab importers from Egypt also included Morocco worth $628.2 million, Jordan by $554.5 million, Algeria by $546.8 million, Iraq by $379 million, Kuwait by 346.9 million and Lebanon by 335.3 million, according to the CAPMAS.

Egypt’s imports from Arab countries rose by 27.9 percent to reach $13.1 billion in the first nine months of 2022, compared to $10.3 billion in the same period in 2021.
