Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi paid an official visit to Doha on April 13–14, 2025, during which he and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, reaffirmed their shared commitment to supporting all peaceful initiatives aimed at de-escalating regional tensions and promoting stability.
In a joint statement released after the visit, both leaders emphasized the strength of the historic and fraternal ties between Egypt and Qatar, and their mutual determination to enhance coordination and consultation on regional and international issues of common interest.
The two sides expressed deep concern over the ongoing conflict in Sudan, calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities and a return to an inclusive national dialogue. They underscored the importance of safeguarding Sudan’s sovereignty and unity while ending the humanitarian suffering of its people. Both Egypt and Qatar expressed full support for all regional and international initiatives aimed at resolving the crisis.
President El-Sisi and the Qatari leadership also welcomed the continuation of indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran, expressing support for any diplomatic efforts that contribute to reducing tensions and strengthening security and stability in the Middle East. In this context, they commended the ongoing mediation efforts by the Sultanate of Oman, recognizing its vital diplomatic role in fostering dialogue and reconciliation in the region.
