On Saturday, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with his Palestinian counterpart, Mohammad Mustafa, at the Egyptian Cabinet headquarters to discuss the early recovery and reconstruction plan for Gaza.

The initiative, developed under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, is set to be presented at the upcoming Arab Summit on March 4.

The meeting was attended by Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Migration, Badr Abdelatty, alongside Palestinian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Wael Zaqout, and Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt, Diab Al-Louh.

At the start of the discussions, Prime Minister Madbouly reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering support for Palestinian rights, emphasizing the country’s long-standing commitment to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He highlighted Egypt’s efforts to ensure that Palestinian citizens in Gaza remain in their homeland while the reconstruction process progresses, stressing the urgency of stabilizing the region and providing humanitarian relief.

Egypt has played a crucial role in mediating ceasefires and facilitating humanitarian aid in Gaza. Madbouly underscored the government’s commitment to pushing forward the reconstruction efforts while working closely with international and regional partners.

He reiterated that Egypt is dedicating all necessary resources to support the Palestinian people, not only through rebuilding but also through diplomatic efforts aimed at securing lasting peace.

Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa expressed deep appreciation for Egypt’s continued backing of the Palestinian cause. He commended President El-Sisi’s leadership and Egypt’s efforts in advocating for Palestinian rights at regional and international levels. He also praised Egypt’s swift action in formulating a comprehensive reconstruction plan, ensuring that Gaza receives the necessary support to recover from the recent devastation.

Egyptian Cabinet spokesperson Mohamed El-Hommasany stated that the discussions centered on finalizing the reconstruction plan in preparation for its presentation at the Arab Summit. Additionally, both parties coordinated efforts to engage international humanitarian organizations in supporting the recovery process, aiming to secure widespread backing for the initiative.
