Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a phone call with Ishaq Dar to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and coordinate efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions.

The call came as part of ongoing consultations between Egypt and Pakistan regarding regional developments and diplomatic efforts to contain escalating tensions across the Middle East.

During the conversation, Abdelatty praised the longstanding ties between the two countries and reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to expanding cooperation and opening new avenues for partnership across multiple sectors in support of mutual interests.

The two ministers also discussed regional de-escalation efforts, with Egypt’s foreign minister stressing the importance of resuming dialogue between the United States and Iran in order to reach understandings that could help calm the situation.

Abdelatty emphasized that diplomacy and political dialogue remain the most effective path toward reducing tensions and preventing a wider regional conflict.

The discussions additionally covered several regional issues of common concern, including the Palestinian issue and developments in Afghanistan.

At the conclusion of the call, both ministers stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination and consultation to support political solutions, restart negotiations, and avoid further military escalation in the region.
