Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi stated that Egyptian petroleum sector companies have the expertise and capabilities to execute large-scale projects at global standards.
During a meeting with Norwegian Ambassador Hilde Klemetsdal and Terje Pilskog, CEO of Norwegian company Scatec, Badawi discussed strengthening cooperation in green energy, particularly in the ongoing green ammonia production project in Damietta.
Badawi praised the partnership with Norway, highlighting its advanced technologies in strategic energy projects.
The Norwegian ambassador affirmed her country’s appreciation for its partnership with Egypt, noting the strong political support from both leaderships and Egypt’s commitment to major energy initiatives.
Scatec’s CEO provided an update on the Damietta green ammonia project, stressing that Egypt’s resources and strategic location position it as a key supplier of green hydrogen and ammonia to Europe.
