Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held a phone call with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri to discuss ongoing efforts to stabilize the ceasefire and reduce tensions in Lebanon.

During the call, both sides reviewed the latest developments and coordinated efforts aimed at reinforcing the current ceasefire agreement. Abdelatty stressed the importance of full adherence to the truce, calling for an end to any violations that could undermine de-escalation efforts.

He emphasized the need to build on the existing ceasefire and intensify regional and international efforts to extend it into a permanent and comprehensive halt to hostilities. Such a step, he noted, would help facilitate the return of displaced civilians and ease the humanitarian situation.

The Egyptian minister reiterated Cairo’s firm support for Lebanon, underscoring its rejection of any infringement on the country’s sovereignty or territorial integrity. He also called for a complete Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory and the full implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 without selectivity.

Abdelatty affirmed that Egypt will continue its diplomatic engagement to support Lebanon politically and humanitarianly during this critical period.
