Spokesman for Egypt Ministry of Health, Khaled Mujahid, said that the rate of recovery from the novel coronavirus in Egypt is one of the highest in the world.

Speaking to MBC Tv, Mujahid added that the reason behind this rate is a therapeutic protocol developed by university professors, doctors at the Ministry of Health and the Armed Forces, explaining that the protocol involves drugs used to counter the disease.

He added that other countries adopt other drugs and different protocols, each according to its perspective of treatment. "This is as long as the World Health Organization did not specify a specific protocol or a drug for treatment, each country has the right to use whatever it sees to treat symptoms or reduce complications," he noted.

Mujahed added that the total number of coronavirus infections in Egypt topped 600 cases, of whom 132 were recovered and discharged from the quarantine hospital.

He noted that those who died because of the disease, have already arrived at the hospital after their health became in a very serious condition, mentioning that their ages ranging from 58 to 84 years old.

He added: "The ministry has not completely isolated any governorates until now, but we are quarantining those in contact with the positive cases that we find until we contain the virus in this place and prevent its spread."

The coronavirus COVID-19 is affecting 200 countries and territories around the world, while its victims so far have reached 38,721 people and infected 799,723; 169,988 people have recovered until this moment.
