The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said that the volume of remittances of Egyptians abroad witnessed a remarkable development during the last 6 years, reaching $21.8 billion in the FY2016/17, and $31.9 billion in the FY2021/22, an increase of $10.1 billion during the last 6 years.
CAPMAS added, in a statement Thursday, that Egypt ranks fifth globally in terms of the volume of remittances inflows from abroad with $32 billion.
Data also showed that India receives $89 billion of remittance inflows, Mexico stood at $54 billion, and China at $53 billion, while the Philippines received $37 billion, and Pakistan came in sixth place with $31 billion.
