Deputy Prime Minister /Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar had a meeting with the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates, Mr. Badr Abdelatty on the sidelines of 11th D-8 Summit in New Administrative Capital of Egypt today.
Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister highly appreciated the arrangements made by the Egyptian government for the D-8 Summit and thanked Egyptian Foreign Minister for the warm hospitality.
He also lauded the deep-rooted multifaceted ties between the two countries, which are based on shared bonds of common faith, values and cultural affinities. The two Foreign Ministers lauded the excellent cooperation between Pakistan and Egypt at the bilateral and multilateral levels. The two Foreign Ministers agreed to further consolidate political, defence, cultural, economic ties and people to people contacts. The two sides also decided to work together to fully exploit the trade and investment potential between the two countries.
The two Foreign Ministers also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. They expressed their grave concern on the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza and atrocities in the West Bank. Deputy Prime Minister /Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar appreciated the pivotal role played by Egypt for provision of humanitarian assistance to the Palestinians in Gaza and efforts aimed at reaching immediate ceasefire in occupied strip. The two Foreign Ministers agreed that the permanent solution to the crisis lies in establishment of a viable and contiguous Palestinian State based on pre-June 1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
The Two Foreign Ministers agreed to maintain the trajectory of high-level contacts between the two friendly countries. Deputy Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister also invited Dr. Badr Abdelatty to visit Pakistan on mutually convenient dates.
