EU Delegation to Egypt, Embassy of Germany and EIB in Cairo DonateRamadan Food Cartons as part of “Misr El Kheir” “Iftar Fasting” Campaign

The European Union Delegation to Egypt, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and the European Investment Bank (EIB) in Cairo have donated food supplies as part of the “Misr El Kheir” “Iftar Fasting” campaign during the month of Ramadan.

EU Ambassador Christian Berger, the Ambassador of Germany, Frank Hartmann, and their staff packed "El Kheir" cartons of food supplies, as an act of solidarity with civil society groups working to support the most vulnerable people.

This year, the EU Delegation donated 1238 food cartons to "Misr El Kheir" beneficiaries in Qena, Al Menya, and Bany Swaif governorates.

All volunteers from the EU Delegation, the German Embassy in Cairo and EIB joined efforts with "Misr El Kheir" Foundation staff to pack food cartons, with the attendance of Engineer Amal Mubdi, Director of Resources Development at the "Misr El Kheir" Foundation.

It is worth noting that the "Misr El Kheir" Foundation launched the "Iftar Fasting" campaign on 21 February this year (1st of Sha'ban) and is still running during Ramadan by packing food cartons and delivering them nationwide. The campaign also manages Ramadan tents for beneficiaries in villages and areas in collaboration with "Misr El Kheir" partners and donors across all governorates, offering both Iftar and Sohour hot meals. The campaign runs until the end of Ramadan.
