The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) in the UAE has unveiled the largest silver bar in the world. Weighing a record-breaking 1,971 kilograms and measuring 1.3 meters in length, the bar was officially registered in the Guinness World Records during the 13th Dubai Precious Metals Conference held on November 24.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the bar was designed with a symbolic weight representing the founding year of the UAE (1971), reflecting national craftsmanship and the spirit of innovation.
In a unique move, and as part of a new strategic project, the DMCC is paving the way to tokenize the bar via the "Tradeflow" platform. This will make it the first precious metal asset registered in the Guinness World Records to be converted into a digital asset under an approved regulatory framework.
The project is the result of a partnership between SAM Precious Metals, Tokenast, and Brink’s. SAM Precious Metals handled the manufacturing of the bar, Tokenast is leading the tokenization and digital issuance procedures, and Brink’s is providing secure storage and logistics services.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, stated that this initiative embodies the Centre’s mission to connect trade, commodities, and finance with technology. He highlighted the potential for digitizing physical assets within trusted and transparent frameworks, emphasizing that such projects reinforce Dubai's position as a global benchmark for practical innovation and investment in real-world assets.
