The Ukrainian Ministry of Communities and Territories and Infrastructure Development announced on Saturday that Denmark has approved a new aid package to support the reconstruction efforts in the city of Mykolaiv in eastern Ukraine, with a total value exceeding USD 21 million.

A statement issued by the Ukrainian ministry, as reported by the UkraineInform news agency today, stated, "The package was approved during the fourth meeting of the Special Supervisory Committee, chaired by Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister of Communities and Territories and Infrastructure Development Oleksandr Kubrakov, and Danish Minister for Development Cooperation and Climate Dan Jørgensen."

The statement added that the package includes funding for landmine clearance projects and the establishment of joint energy generation stations in Mykolaiv.

It also noted that "In cooperation with the United Nations Office for Project Services in Ukraine, reconstruction work will be carried out on the housing of the National University of Mykolaiv Agricultural University."

The agency pointed out that in the spring of 2023, Denmark took Mykolaiv under its patronage, and significant progress has been made in reconstruction efforts since then, with most projects either completed or successfully underway in the region.
