Defence Minister Inspects Central Military Region, Stresses Readiness amid Regional Tensions

Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher inspected the combat readiness of the Central Military Region as part of the General Command of the Armed Forces’ ongoing field follow-up of preparedness across military formations and units.

During the visit, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production reviewed a detailed briefing on recent development and modernization efforts within the Central Military Region. The session was attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, along with commanders of the main branches.

Zaher later inspected elements of the air defense and military medical services modernization systems, which reflected the high level of operational readiness achieved by the Central Military Region.

The defense chief also shared an iftar meal with fighters from the Central Military Region, Border Guards, Airborne Forces, and Thunderbolt units. He conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to the troops.

Zaher stressed the importance of sustained training and maintaining high morale to ensure the Armed Forces remain fully prepared to safeguard national security. He reaffirmed the General Command’s commitment to supporting the individual soldier as the cornerstone of military strength.

He also urged personnel to continue expanding their awareness and knowledge to keep pace with the rapid and complex developments in the region and their direct implications for Egypt’s national security.
