The death toll from the massive floods that swept through the Ghor and Faryab provinces of Afghanistan rose to 68 people.
The Afghan Tolo TV channel reported in its English version on Sunday that the floods caused the destruction of thousands of homes and hundreds of shops, in addition to damaging large areas of agricultural land and killing thousands of livestock.
In turn, the spokesman for the governor of the Jor region, Abdul Wahid Hamas, announced that fifty people were killed, and many others are missing as a result of the floods.
For his part, the spokesman for the governor of Faryab Province, Ismatullah Moradi, said that the massive floods greatly affected several areas, leaving 18 people killed so far and two others injured.
