The Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority announced that the death toll from the devastating earthquake that struck the south of the country last week has risen to 38,044.
The Turkish TV "TRT " reported today, Friday, that the death toll in Syria also rose to 5,814 people, bringing the total number of deaths as a result of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria to 43,858.
It is noteworthy that a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkey and northern Syria last week, followed by another 7.6-magnitude earthquake, causing widespread damage in both countries.
