Cyprus' Foreign Minister, Constantinos Kombos, has emphasized Egypt's vital role in ensuring Europe's security, describing it as the northeastern gateway for securing European territory. He urged the European Union to recognize this strategic importance and adjust its approach to Egypt accordingly.
In an exclusive interview on Cairo News Channel with host Amal El-Hanawy, Kombos highlighted Egypt's leadership in the region. He noted that Egypt has consistently worked to maintain stability and security, which ultimately benefits the European Union.
Kombos stated, "The European Union needs to reflect on these matters. There is a lot of strength and ideas in this issue. Therefore, we have strongly and vocally supported Egypt in Brussels regarding how the EU can maximize the use of available tools to support Egypt in its efforts, ensuring this support continues consistently and sustainably."
