Within the Ministry of Culture's strategy to restore Egypt's cultural influence through emphasizing the importance of soft power in building bridges of communication between nations, Minister Ines Abdel-Dayem approved the country's participation the 58th Venice Biennale of Art exhibition.

The exhibition is one of the most popular biennials in the world, including 79 artists that belong to all art schools. Running from May 11th up until November 24th, a delegation representing Egypt including Ahmed Shiha, Islam Abdullah and Ahmed Abdel Karim will carry out the joint work entitled "Khnum..narrator through the ages." The Head of the Egyptian Academy of Arts in Rome, Jehan Zaki will accompany the delegation during their participation in the exhibition.

The work is inspired by the story of one of the ancient gods of Egypt called Khnum, who was portrayed in the form of a man with a ram's head, guarding the sources of the Nile.

It is derived from the deep past to narrate and evoke the essence of ancient times, which was characterized by virtue.

In addition, the National Centre for Translation and Publishing participates this month with an Egyptian pavilion at the 16th session of the Thessaloniki Book Fair (TBF) in Greece.

The pavilion includes a selection of the most prominent translations on the Greek language, as well as a symposium entitled "The impact of Greek civilization in the Egyptian Renaissance... Translation and theater model."

The symposium was lectured by translator Khaled Raouf and Professor of Greek philosophy at the American University of Athens Hesham Hassan.
