On the sidelines of the visit of Sultan Haji Hassan Bolkiah – the Brunei Sultan- to Egypt, Dr. Enas Abdul Dayem, Minister of Culture, met Minister of Culture and Youth of Brunei and discussed ways of cementing cultural and artistic cooperation between the two countries.
Abdel-Dayem said that soft power plays an important and influential role in strengthening the bonds of friendship between Egypt and the various countries of the world, considering this as one of the best means of communicating between peoples.
She added that a project was discussed to organize variety of joint activities that reflect creativity intellectual and artistic persity within the two communities.
On his part, Sultanate of Brunei praised Egypt's pioneering role in the enlightenment movement throughout history as the oldest civilization of the earth, referring to the role of culture and arts in building bridges of communication among peoples. He stressed his concern to follow Egyptian creativity.
Noteworthy, Brunei is a tiny nation on the island of Borneo, in 2 distinct sections surrounded by Malaysia and the South China Sea. It's known for its beaches and bioperse rainforest, much of it protected within reserves. The capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, is home to the opulent Jame’Asr Hassanil Bolkiah mosque and its 29 golden domes.
