The Minister of Culture Ahmed Fouad Hano launched the activities of the second edition of the "Capital Children's Arts Forum" at the Egyptian Opera House Square with the participation of sectors of the Ministry of Culture and a number of ministries.
The Minister of Culture inspected the pavilions of the participating sectors and ministries held at the Egyptian Opera House Square and on three stages.
The first stage of forum featured singing groups and choirs, including performances by Little Fingers, the Russian School Choir, two groups for people with special needs, and the talent development classes at the Egyptian Opera House. The second stage witnessed performances by "The Big Night," "Farha," the Aragouz group in Shubra El-Kheima, a show by the pioneer of translation, Rifa'a El-Tahtawi, in addition to the glove and marionette puppetry segments. The third stage hosted folk arts segments and the "Girls Only" group, the "Sesame Street and Children of the Egyptian Public Library in Ismailia" group, the Mansoura group, and the Mahalla El-Kubra group.
The Minister of Culture praised the huge public turnout of children and their families at the forum. He stressed that the forum is an opportunity to discover talents, develop the capabilities of young creators, and introduce new generations to the training programs, workshops, and various cultural services provided by the Ministry of Culture that contribute to building the Egyptian child.
In this edition, all sectors concerned with children in the ministry participated, including “The Egyptian Opera House, the Supreme Council of Culture with its affiliated administration - the Central Administration of People and Committees, the National Center for Children’s Culture - the General Authority for Cultural Palaces, the Egyptian General Book Authority, the National Center for Translation, the Cultural Production Affairs Sector - represented by the Artistic House of Theater and the Artistic House of Folk and Performing Arts - the Fine Arts Sector, the Cultural Development Fund, the Academy of Arts, the General Authority for the National Library and Archives, and the Central Administration for External Cultural Relations”.
The exhibition also included a large number of national circus segments and a number of book fairs in different locations. The main hall of the Supreme Council of Culture hosted the main exhibition, while other mini-exhibitions were organized in book sales outlets in all Egyptian Opera Houses, which remained open to the forum’s audience until the end of its activities. The forum also included a large number of art workshops for children.
