The Iraqi authorities announced on Saturday that Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr club, and his partner Georgina Rodríguez have been granted entry visas to Iraq.
According to the Iraqi News Agency, the Residency Affairs Directorate issued the visa to Ronaldo to participate in the upcoming match between Al-Nassr and Iraqi club Al-Shorta, which will take place at Al-Madina Stadium in Baghdad.
The report, citing an official source, confirmed that a visa has also been issued to Georgina Rodríguez to accompany Ronaldo during the match.
Al-Shorta club officials confirmed Ronaldo's participation, stating, "Ronaldo will be in Baghdad with his team for the match. The passports of all Al-Nassr players, including Ronaldo’s, have been received to issue entry visas," according to the agency.
The highly anticipated match between Al-Nassr and Al-Shorta is scheduled for Monday at the Al-Madina International Stadium in Baghdad as part of the AFC Champions League.
The game will kick off at 7:00 PM Saudi Arabia time (4:00 PM GMT).
