COVID-19: U.S. to Vaccinate 300 Mn Americans by Summer's End

On Wednesday, U.S. President Joe Biden promised to purchase 200 million additional doses of the two COVID-19 vaccines approved in the United States (Pfizer and Moderna).

In a press statement, Biden said that his administration 'is working to purchase 100 million doses from Pfizer and 100 million from Moderna, an increase in the available supply by 50%, which will fully vaccinate 300 million Americans by the end of this summer.'

Biden added, "We discovered that the vaccination program is at a worse level than expected ... and millions of Americans will be vaccinated sooner than previously planned."

"We now have a national strategy to beat COVID-19. It's comprehensive. It's based on science, not politics," the US president stressed.
