Authorities in Australia announced the lockdown of Melbourne, the second largest city in Australia, due to the outbreak of the new Coronavirus.

New South Wales State announced yesterday, Monday, the shutdown of its border with Victoria, for the first time in 100 years after Victoria reported two deaths and 127 cases of coronavirus in only 24 hours, this is the highest daily total since the outbreak began.

“New South Wales border shuts to all Victorians from 11.59pm on Tuesday,” Daily Mail reported.

Strict restrictions will also be imposed by the New South Wales Police and Australian Defense Forces with roadblocks and unmanned aerial vehicles to help Victorian officers in combating the outbreak of Coronavirus in the state.

People across the globe partake in self-isolation for 14 days as an effective precautionary measure to protect those around them and themselves from contracting COVID-19.

Transmission of coronavirus between humans happens when someone comes into contact with an infected person’s secretions, such as droplets in a cough.

It can also be transmitted by coming into contact with something an infected person has touched and then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes.
