On Monday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 946 new Coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 344,907.
The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 19,567 nationwide after the ministry announced 68 deaths.
About 432 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 288114.
It is worth mentioning that, Egypt has vaccinated about 40 million citizens against COVID-19 so far, Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar revealed on Sunday.
In televised remarks, he added that the country has managed to provide all types of Coronavirus vaccines during the last period.
The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) announced on Sunday the start of clinical trials for CoviVacc, the country’s first coronavirus vaccine.
In a statement, the authority confirmed that the vaccine is a fruitful outcome of cooperation between the National Research Center and Vaccine Valley Company.
