Johns Hopkins University announced on Wednesday that more than 282.8 million people were infected with Coronavirus worldwide.
On Tuesday, Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 809 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 383,003.
The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 21,667 nationwide after the ministry announced 28 deaths.
About 711 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 318,456.
Egypt has managed so far to vaccinate around 50 million people against the Coronavirus.
Noteworthy, Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population said in a post on its official page on “Facebook” that the Coronavirus vaccine is safe, effective, and stimulates the immune system to form antibodies that protect the body from the virus.
Egypt’s vaccination campaign began in January with priority groups and later expanded to university students. Registration for the jab is open to all.
