The World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Tuesday that coronavirus cases around the world have increased by more than 2.2 million cases during the last week. The increase in the coronavirus cases is considered the highest in a week since the beginning of the pandemic. WHO stated that the number of deaths rose by about 39 thousand, RT reported.
The organization added that the number of the officially confirmed cases reached 37109851 cases and 1070355 deaths on October 11.
Europe has recorded the largest increase in coronavirus cases, in comparison with the last seven days. The number of cases has increased by more than 694 thousand cases to reach 6.92 million cases. As for the deaths, more than 6.1 thousand cases have died in one week to reach a total number of 246 thousand deaths.
