Johns Hopkins University reported that the United States of America (USA) recorded yesterday more than 1.2 thousand new deaths caused by the emerging coronavirus.

The university, which bases its statistics on the data of official federal and local authorities and open sources, confirmed that the United States recorded yesterday 1244 deaths and 61660 new infections with the virus that causes "Covid-19" (compared to 1076 deaths and 56,336 injuries the previous day).

To date, according to the university's data, in the United States, 4,352 million confirmed cases of the emerging coronavirus have been recorded, including 149,258 deaths and 1,355,363 cases of cure, more than doubling the toll of any other country in the world.

On its part, Reuters reported, based on its statistics, that the death toll of "Covid-19" in the United States increased by ten thousand deaths during the past 11 days, reflecting the pace of the epidemic that had not been registered in the country since early June.

The rate of new deaths due to corona in the United States increased for three weeks in a row, while the rate of weekly injuries fell recently for the first time since June, according to Reuters statistics.

This comes against the backdrop of a sharp rise in the number of corona infections that a number of US states have witnessed in the past weeks, led by Arizona, California, Florida and Texas.

Recently, these states began to suffer from overcrowding in hospitals, while local authorities were forced to abandon plans to lift restrictions on social and economic life in an attempt to curb the pandemic.

However, US President Donald Trump said, during a news conference held weeks earlier, that the strict measurements taken by his administration have saved the USA from two million deaths of the Coronavirus.

He grilled the Swedish government for negligence because it let life went as normal without any preventive measurements to confront the deadly virus. As a result, the confirmed cases of infection in Sweden went higher like ones in the United Kingdom which took the same path.

Trump went on to say that the strict measurements protect the US economy against turbulent, negative changes due to the Coronavirus. However, he predicted that deaths of the virus would range from 55 to 75 thousand cases.

On the other hand, US Johns Hopkins University, announced today that the total confirmed cases of the Coronavirus in the USA reached more than four million cases. The university released a statement said the daily percentage of the deaths hit 2100 people across the country.

Sources familiar with the White House pointed out the self-isolation measurements imposed by the authorities reduced significantly the possible infections in the USA.

The officials warn the spike of the infection might happen next week then reduce to lesser numbers later.

New York State becomes the epicenter of the pandemic in the USA.

The local authorities in that state directed to dig mass graves in Hart Island to bury the victims of the Coronavirus. The island was used as the burying place for the poor in the state in the last 150 years.

Hundred of deaths were recorded daily in houses and streets, but the authorities don't register them as vitiates of the Coronavirus even if the symptoms of the COVID-19 appeared on the dead.

As the Americans celebrate the Easter Day tomorrow, Sunday, Antony Fauci, senior expert in infectious diseases in USA, warned of mitigating the strict measurements taken to confront the virus.
