COP-27: FM Hold Meeting with Number of US Senators

 Foreign Minister and President-Designate of the 27th session of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) Sameh Shoukry held a meeting with a group of US Senators and their assistants, in Sharm El-Sheikh, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez said.

During the meeting, FM stressed the strategic relations between both countries in various fields, and Egypt's keenness to continue to strengthen them at various levels.

In this regard, Shoukry shed light on the great interaction witnessed by both sides during COP-27, by holding a series of official meetings on many levels, especially the summit that brought together President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and his US counterpart Joe Biden.

On its part, the US Senate delegation was keen to commend Egypt's organization of the climate conference and its ability to host this huge event.

They also indicated their awareness of the strategic nature of Egyptian-American relations and Egypt's pioneering role in the region over the years, especially with regard to promoting regional peace and stability.

In this context, the meeting dealt with a number of international issues, foremost of which; the Russian-Ukrainian crisis and its economic repercussions.
