The “Riverdale” star Cole Sprouse joined Lana Condor her upcoming science-fiction romantic comedy movie “Moonshot”, for streaming platform HBO Max.
The movie ia set in a future where Mars is terraformed and colonized by the best humanity has to offer, follows two very different college students who join forces and sneak onboard a space shuttle to the red planet to be united with their significant others.
It was announced that Condor will be playing Sophie in the upcoming movie in June 2020. No additional details have been revealed about Sprouse’s character, nor any word on when production starts or when it will be released.
Chris Winterbauer will direct from a screenplay by Max Taxe. Sprouse’s Riverdale executive producers Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter will produce through Berlanti/Schechter Films along with Jill McElroy and Jenna Sarkin of Entertainment 360.
Sprouse confirmed the news on his Instagram account on Tuesday, saying: ‘I’m the last person you want to be trapped on a spacecraft with. The timeless @lanacondor and I are making a movie on mars…or at least Atlanta,”.
“Very excited to be working with #christopherwinterbauer , @sarahsowitty , @gberlanti , and @hbomax. Lots in the works for 2021 🚀,” he added.
Condor also reposted the news on the platform and captioned: “Let’s gooo @colesprouse”.
Sprouse currently stars on the CW show Riverdale. He is also set to star with Zachary Levi in the movie “Under Cover”, for Lionsgate.
