Cold Snap Brings Temperature Drop, Rainfall to Parts of Egypt

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicts warm weather to prevail in Cairo, Lower Egypt, and North Upper Egypt, during daylight hours on Wednesday.

Moderate weather is also expected to hit the North Coast, while South Sinai and South Upper Egypt experience moderately hot weather.

Experts predict the country will continue to experience a decline in the temperature.

There is a 60% chance of medium rain, sometimes thunderous, to prevail intermittently in Cairo, South Lower Egypt, Canal Cities, and Suez Gulf.

There is also 40% chance of light to medium rain, sometimes thunderous, to prevail in the Northern Coast and North Lower Egypt, at intermittent intervals.

There is also 20% chance of light rainfall to hit intermittently North Upper Egypt, South Sinai, and South of the Red Sea chains.

Winds will be active in Cairo, Lower Egypt, North Coast, and South Sinai, stirring  sand and dust in the north of the Red Sea Governorate and the south of the country, at intermittent intervals.

Cold weather and wind activity will continue to the end of the week.

Furthermore, the Mediterranean Sea will experience turbulent waves, ranging between 2.5 and 3 meters in height with northwestern surface winds.

Waves in the Red Sea will be moderate to turbulent, ranging between 2 and 2.5 meters in height with northwestern surface winds.

Moreover, cold weather is also expected to prevail in most parts of the country, at night.

Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 21°C in Cairo, 20°C in Alexandria, 19°C in Marsa Matruh, 24°C in Sohag, 24°C in Qena, and 27°C in Aswan.
