General manager of Coca-Cola Beverages in Egypt Ahmed Radi said on Sunday the company pumped $ 500 million in the past three years in the country.
He added during an "iftar" gathering organized by the company today, that the investments pumped were directed towards the transformation of the 6 October plant to fully operate in solar power.
In addition, investments were guided towards increasing distribution points in various governorates of the Republic.
"The tendency towards alternative energy comes within a strategy to pull away from the high-cost of energy products including electricity and fuel," Radi added.
Recently, Coca-Cola has focused on increasing production lines and community development projects.
By the end of 2019, the company will conclude the development of 60 impoverished communities within the initiative of raising the living standards of 100 villages, that was launched two years ago.
