CNN's Newsroom program promoted a new kind of tourism in Egypt titled Egyptian Yoga or 'Kemetic Yoga'.

In a footage, filmed in Luxor in cooperation with the Tourism Ministry, the Kemetic Yoga is listed under the Wellness Tourism.

Sarah Wesley, one of the most famous yoga instructors in the world, said yoga is a sport for the soul and body, adding the Karnak Temple, where she practices, is full of powerful and peaceful energy.

CNN mentioned that the temple provides an ideal backdrop for practicing Kemetic Yoga, pointing out that many tourists are currently searching for spiritual experience and Egypt became a destination for such experience.

Wesley, who settled in Egypt since 2017, noted that Kemetic Yoga dates back to the ancient Egyptian civilization and its name is taken from the old name of Egypt (Kemet).

This competitive type of yoga is developed from studying the hieroglyphic manuscripts and images on the temples which showed the ancient Egyptians were practicing yoga.

Meanwhile, Tourism Minister Dr. Rania Al-Mashat said: "Egypt enjoys an enormous persification in its tourist products," adding Egypt has many to offer to the world not limited only to cultural heritage but also modern activities and sports like yoga.

"It is obvious that travel trends had been changed, as any tourist, before traveling, search for hotspots where enrich its experience," Al-Mashat stated.

The minister pointed out that Egypt offers to the world a combination of spirituality, a wonderful nature, and positive energy.

She also said this persification falls within a framework of the Egypt-Tourism Reform Program's (E-TRP) vision on achieving sustainable tourism and developing local communities surrounding the tourist sites (People and Places).

It also comes as a part of the Marketing and Promoting pillar of E-TRP and Branding by Destination campaign.

In August, CNN showed a promotional film on the Red Sea Mountain Trail, the first time to film there.

Also, CNN interviewed the American rapper Russ after his unforgettable concert in the North Coast in August.

All these promotions come as a part of a partnership agreement signed between the ministry and the international television channel in May on showing Egypt's tourism in a contemporary way.
