CNN Lists 10 Water Activities for Travelers in Egypt

Blessed with the Mediterranean on the north and the Red Sea in the east, as well as the Nile River, Egypt, has one the longest coastlines in Africa and the Middle East. 

Here, CNN Travel enumerates water activities, which could be enjoyed in Egypt.

1- Scuba & Snorkeling

The Red Sea, from Sinai to Sudan's borders, is home to more than 1,100 species of fish, including 220 species of hard and soft coral. This ecosystem creates an outstanding environment for ping and snorkeling. 

Thanks to the Red Sea marine life, Egypt, recently, is voted as one of the world's best scuba and snorkel attractions. Dive Magazine, the world's leading scuba ping publication, considers Egypt as one of the world's top 10 best ping sites. 

Not only the fish and coral encourage travelers to pe, but the shipwrecks in Egypt's turquoise water attracts explorers, topped by the SS Thistlegorm in the Red Sea.

2- Beaches 

Egypt offers many places to enjoy the sun, sand, and sea in one time with 2,450 kilometers - more than Florida. 

Tourists usually head for Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada as their favorite destinations, however, resorts like Marsa Alam, Dahab, and El Gouna begin to catch the eyes of local and foreign beach-goers.

3- Wildlife

The Red Sea is famous for its distinguished and various creatures, as when you pe down, you can see dolphins, sharks, sea turtles, and manta rays as well as thousands of fish species.

4- Waterparks 

Families and teens can enjoy the giant water slides, wave pools, and lazy rivers at Egypt's waterparks. 

The report recommended Hurghada's Makadi Water World and Sinbad Aqua Park.

5- Kitesurfing 

CNN Travel named Hurghada and El Gouna as preferable hotspots for tourists to do kite-surfing. 

It also recommended to do it from March till November, pointing out there are schools for kite-surfing along the Red Sea coast.

6- Windsurfing 

Dahab is the best destination for windsurfing, as the weather conditions are perfect for most of the year. 

Dahab offers "windsurfing centers, professional courses, the latest equipment, and three windsurfing areas, including a "speedway" for veteran surfers and a nearly enclosed lagoon that's ideal for beginners."

The report also mentioned other water activities in Egypt like kayaking, submarines, desert oases, sailing on the Nile, and wake-boarding.
