Egypt’s Ministry of Civil Aviation has dismissed reports circulating on social media about a crash of an Egyptian plane and the death of all passengers.
The Ministry said in a statement that all such claims are baseless and urged media outlets and social media users to verify any news before publishing it in order to avoid causing chaos and concerns among the citizens.
According to Al Arabiya TV, Egyptian officials mentioned the reports were not true and that it was an emergency test conducted by competent authorities in Sudan, not in Morocco or Algeria. They emphasized that the test involved testing transmitters and receivers between call centers.
The sources further explained that such tests are carried out periodically by most countries to ensure the safety and functionality of transmitting and receiving devices, as well as the promptness and effectiveness of response protocols.
