Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Coach Christophe Galtier was arrested over allegations of discrimination during his run with Nice football club, the news was confirmed by the French news agency Agence on Friday.
The investigation was launched back in April after the breakout of a lot of claims about Galtier's racist and Islamophobic comments about the team's players during his run with Nice in the 2021-22 season.
It is expected that Galtier will be sacked from coaching the Qatari-owned PSG.
It was not one of the biggest seasons for the team as they received more than 10 defeats in 2023, and were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League in the pre-quarterfinal stage of the competition.
Galtier maintained that he didn't make such racist or anti-Muslim comments, however, a leaked email from the Nice Director of Football Julien Fournier contained accusations from the director to Galtier of saying racist comments about many Black and Muslim players in the squad.
