American actor Chris Evans is in final negotiations to star opposite British actress Emily Blunt in Netflix’s "Pain Hustlers".
It is written by Wells Tower and directed by David Yates. The streamer landed global rights to the David Yates-directed project for $50 million.
Yates is best known for directing the last four movies in the Harry Potter franchise, as well as all three Fantastic Beasts movies.
The movie revolves around Liza Drake (Blunt), a high-school dropout dreaming of a better life for her and her young daughter.
She lands a job with a failing pharmaceutical startup in a yellowing strip mall in Central Florida. Drake catapults the company into the high life but finds herself at the center of a criminal conspiracy with deadly consequences.
Production is expected to begin in late August on the project, which has been billed as being tonally similar to "The Big Short", "American Hustle", and "The Wolf of Wall Street".
Lawrence Grey is producing Pain Hustlers under his Grey Matter Production company alongside Yates and Yvonne Walcott Yates’ Wychwood Pictures.
Moreover, Evans is reteaming with the Russo Brothers for the fifth time in Netflix’s "The Gray Man" after his streak with them on the Avengers and Captain America Marvel movies.
He recently wrapped production on the Dexter Fletcher-directed "Ghosted" for Apple.
