On Friday, Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed Italian President Sergio Mattarella in Beijing as part of his official six-day visit to China.
A statement from the Italian presidency explained that the meeting between the two presidents included discussions and a presentation of the outcomes of the Italy-China Cultural Forum, as well as the signing of agreements between the two countries.
The Italian president also visited the exhibition “Journey of Knowledge - Marco Polo and His Legacy Between East and West” held at the World Art Museum. Additionally, he met with embassy staff and representatives of Italian institutions at the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing.
In a press statement, President Mattarella remarked that the rapid and significant changes and major challenges facing humanity require a shared vision, emphasizing the strong bilateral relations between Italy and China and the desire for increased cooperation.
