On Sunday, the Chinese Ambassador in Cairo Li Lijuan attended the event of receiving the models of the EgyptSat-2 satellite from China to the Egyptian Space Agency.
Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of International Cooperation and Investment, Dr. Sherif Sedky, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, and the financial director of the Chinese company CASC, along with representatives from China and the Egyptian government participated in the event.
In his speech, Lijuan expressed his pleasure to attend the event, and witnessing the receiving of the models from China to the Egyptian Space Agency.
He also congratulated all parties participating in the project of EgyptSat-2 on the great progress they made, in addition to showing appreciation for the great cooperation between the Chinese experts and their Egyptian counterparts.
The Chinese highlighted that this project is part of the Chinese-Egyptian cooperation in the file of the Road and Belt initiative, adding that Egypt is the first country that received such a model from China.
He continued that this project will qualify to be a center for receiving satellite components and operating systems in Africa.
The Chinese Ambassador concluded his speech by asserting China's interest in enhancing cooperation with Egypt in the field of space and technology.
