China's State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters has taken proactive measures to address the imminent flood threat across nine provincial-level regions by initiating a Level-IV emergency response.

The regions affected include Jiangsu, Anhui, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Guizhou, Shaanxi, as well as the southwestern areas of Chongqing and Sichuan. In anticipation of heavy rainfall starting from Monday, preparations are underway, including the deployment of response teams to Chongqing and Sichuan.

The weather forecast predicts not only heavy rainfall but also the potential for thunderstorms and gales in these areas. Local authorities have been instructed to closely monitor precipitation levels, strengthen preparedness for potential natural disasters and flooding incidents in smaller and mid-sized rivers, ensure the safety of reservoirs, and promptly address urban waterlogging issues.

China's proactive response to these weather challenges highlights the country's commitment to protecting lives, property, and infrastructure during periods of extreme weather events. It underscores the importance of effective disaster management and response efforts throughout the nation.
