The Chinese diplomatic mission to the European Union has expressed China’s concern about NATO's declaration that it is a "nuclear alliance", which will lead to an increase in regional tension.
According to the mission statement, NATO's statement that it is a nuclear alliance will only exacerbate regional tensions, and China is very concerned in this regard.
The statement added that Beijing calls on NATO to respond to the international community's just call for peace, development and cooperation, correct its misconceptions and policies, and play a constructive role in promoting world peace and stability.
China's concern comes after the announcement of the NATO summit in Vilnius that the alliance will take steps to ensure the effectiveness and security of the nuclear deterrence mission, including the modernization of nuclear capabilities.
NATO also emphasized the need to ensure the widest possible participation of interested Allies in NATO's nuclear burden-sharing mechanisms in order to demonstrate Alliance unity and resolve.
