China has strongly condemned the use of force by the United States against Venezuela, warning that the actions constitute a serious violation of international law and threaten regional stability in Latin America and the Caribbean.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said U.S. actions reflected political hegemony and amounted to a blatant breach of international law, an infringement on Venezuela’s sovereignty, and a direct threat to peace and security in the region. China expressed firm opposition to what it described as unlawful interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state.
Russia also reacted sharply to the reported developments, calling on the United States to immediately clarify the whereabouts of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife. The Russian Foreign Ministry said it was deeply concerned by reports claiming the Venezuelan president and his spouse were forced to leave the country following U.S. military actions.
In its statement, Moscow stressed that any attempt to compel a sitting head of state and their family to leave their country would represent an unacceptable violation of national sovereignty and a fundamental breach of international law. Russian officials warned that such actions, if confirmed, would undermine the basic principles governing relations between states.
