Chinese Foreign Minister (FM) Wang Yi expressed his country's hope that the ceasefire arrangements in Gaza between Israel and Hamas would be effectively implemented, paving the way for a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire.
He emphasized that Beijing will continue to play a constructive role in seeking a comprehensive and enduring resolution to the Palestinian issue.
Moreover, Chinese FM reaffirmed that the fundamental solution to the Middle East issue lies in the implementation of the two-state solution, which would ultimately ensure peaceful coexistence between Palestine and Israel.
According to China’s Xinhua News Agency, Wang Yi made these remarks during his meeting with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar after attending the Munich Security Conference.
Wang stressed that China remains committed to upholding justice, warning that responding to violence with violence would only lead to a new cycle of conflict.
He also underscored the urgent need to end the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza as quickly as possible.
