China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced on Thursday that China will pilot a visa exemption policy for citizens of Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, and Luxembourg starting from March 14.

During a press conference held on the sidelines of the 14th National People's Congress, China's highest legislative body, Wang expressed his hope that more countries would also offer visa facilitation to Chinese citizens.

Wang stated that this policy would make international travel more accessible for Chinese citizens and ensure that foreign friends feel at home while in China.

The Chinese Foreign Minister pledged to collaborate with relevant authorities to advance the signing of more high-standard free trade agreements and expand China's global free trade zone network, aiming to maintain the stability and smooth operation of global industrial, supply, and data chains.

Wang also expressed China's readiness to develop international cooperation platforms, including the China International Import Expo and the China International Fair for Trade in Services, and to improve its market-oriented, law-based business environment in line with international standards to provide top-notch services to investors and partners worldwide.
