Egypt is preparing to launch its first "Fustat Hills Winter Festival", a new seasonal event designed to turn the historic heart of Cairo into a vibrant winter destination, mirroring the success of the "New Alamein Summer Festival" on the North Coast.

Khaled Siddiq, Chairman of the Urban Development Fund, said the festival will be part of a broader plan to organize a series of winter celebrations in Fustat Hills, aimed at attracting visitors and showcasing the area’s cultural and touristic potential.

The announcement came during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Monday evening at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

The meeting reviewed the latest updates on the management and operation plans for the "Fustat Hills Gardens" project, one of the key urban regeneration initiatives in central Cairo.

Madbouly reaffirmed the government’s commitment to reviving historic Cairo and transforming Fustat into a dynamic cultural hub that combines heritage, tourism, and modern leisure. The project, he added, aligns with Egypt’s broader efforts to enhance public spaces, attract investment, and boost local tourism throughout the year.
