Cairo, 29 November 2025 — Egypt launched the second edition of the Regional Sustainable Development Forum in Cairo under the patronage of the Ministries of Youth and Sports and Environment. The event is organized by Aspire Community Transformation, affiliated with Aspire Consulting International, and hosted at Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development.

Senior government officials, development experts, and representatives of international organizations attended the opening, including Ms. Nanis Al-Naqouri from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ahlam Farouk from the Ministry of Environment, Aspire CEO Bassem Emad, Aspire Community Transformation Director Nanis Yousry, and SEKEM CEO Helmy Abouleish.

The forum aims to provide a regional platform for discussing the future of sustainable development, promoting corporate social responsibility, reviewing emerging trends in development programs, and strengthening the role of the private sector in supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Two main sessions led the first day’s discussions. The first focused on youth empowerment and strategies to equip young people to drive future development. The second explored the green economy and environmental innovation, highlighting pathways for sustainable solutions and stronger climate resilience.

The program also includes workshops and dialogue sessions designed to build leadership skills, encourage environmental innovation, and support social entrepreneurship. Strategic partners include Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development, Arweqah Al-Riyada from Saudi Arabia, technology partner ZOHO, and Golden Partner SEKEM. International organizations such as IOM, Save the Children, the ILO, the World Food Programme, and Terre des Hommes are also taking part, alongside major Egyptian civil society institutions.

A ceremony on the sidelines honored leading institutions and individuals for their contributions to sustainable development. Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development was recognized for its sustainability-focused education model, along with Qatar’s Generation Amazing for its social development initiatives through sports. Awards also went to MCV for sustainable mobility, Lafarge for low-emission construction practices, and Dr. Malak Zaalouk for her leadership in transformative education. Screenwriter Mariam Naoum and Professor Laila El-Baradei received special recognition for their impact on social development and academic leadership.

The forum continues with additional sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities, reinforcing Egypt’s efforts to advance its national sustainable development agenda and expand regional cooperation.
