Brokers Circulate Rumors to Cheat Egyptian Students in Ukraine

The Ministry of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs (MSEEA) has received many complaints and inquiries from the Egyptian students in Ukraine and their relatives.  Impostors and charlatans often emerge in the times of crisis' as they attempt to seize opportunities.

They ask the ministry to send exceptional planes to evacuate them and return them to the homeland.

Officials of the MSEEA got tips about some opportunists who try to blackmail the students and their families.

The impostors circulate rumors claiming that there are planes to return the students from Ukraine to Egypt to collect funds illegally.

Nabila Makram Abdel Shaheed, Minister of MSEEA, denied what was traded about those claims.

Makram added that the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt (ARE) in Kiev, the capital city of Ukraine, is the only official place that will be commissioned to inform the Egyptians stranded in Ukraine on any measurement to send a plane to evacuate those students.

Egypt's Embassy will get then permissions of the Ukrainian authorities.

Makram said that the Egyptian embassies in all states across the world, coordinate with the Ministry of Civil Aviation to carry out suitable measurements to evacuate the Egyptians stranded.

She made clear that the Egyptian state does its best to surmount that crisis linked to the Coronavirus.

The MSEEA urges the stranded citizens in Ukraine to be cautious to avoid plotting of the impostors and ignore their rumors about planes sent to evacuate the stranded in Ukraine.

She stressed that those rumors are baseless.

The impostors seek to blackmail the students in those critical circumstances.

In the same context, the minister affirmed that her ministry follows up the Egyptians stranded anywhere around the world.

Students want to return from Ukraine

The minister reiterated that the MSEEA exerts more efforts to coordinate with the other countries to repatriate the Egyptians and the exceptional cases who are still stranded in those states so far.

Makram recommends the stranded citizens to contact with the Egyptian embassies and consulates to complete their applications.  They must fill the electronic forms, by following this link:
